Lake Compounce

Lake Compounce is the oldest continuously operating Amusement park in the country.
It open in 1846, a solid 15 years before the Civil War.

Boulder Dash

Its rides, however, are mostly new, including Boulder Dash, their very own CCI.

BD is not just an airtime-inducing out-and-back, but also a contour hugging terrain coaster.

Barely visible between the trees and rocks, it's one of the most aptly named coasters around

But it's name isn't the only great thing about it, it's the longest wooden coaster east of Ohio

Both the out and the back sections are ladden with bunny hills, and airtime is abound.

Wildcat

Herb Schmeck is a legend for designing quality wooden coasters, some over 80 years old

This one is from 1927, and had been the headliner at the park until BD came by

It's had some track work done to keep it in good shape, and it still gives an intense ride, no matter how old it is

Zoomerang

Attempting to bring some of the patrons a more modern park experience, they added Zoomerang

The Vekoma Boomerang is your standard fare, worth a ride, or maybe two

Pirate

Compounce is a beautifully landscaped park, and their Pirate couldn't be in a more picturesque spot

Downtime

Another foree into modern rides, Downtime S&S Turbo Drop was their new'fer in 2004

Sky Ride

A very unique attraction, I almost expected to slide off into some powder at the top

Lake Compounce also has a nice waterpark right on the lakeshore
